Marcos Cisterna
With over 15 years of experience in the energy sector, I have a proven track record in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on market and energy regulations. I have held key positions in several leading companies, including SouthEnergy, Aela Energía, and AES Gener, where I've been responsible for managing and developing energy assets, identifying market and regulatory activities, and devising business development initiatives.
Some of my notable accomplishments include transforming a 72 MW solar company into a worthy sales project, developing a risk management GNL strategy that established an annual margin of +10 MMUSD/year, and leading an Interconnection team that provided Interconnection Due Diligence for Coal Power plants connection Angamos (560MW) and Cochrane(550 MW).
I hold an MBA from the Pontific Catholic University of Chile and a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Chile. My core competencies include leadership, negotiation, strategic planning & analysis, project management, and process improvement. I also have advanced IT skills, including Python development and electrical & math modelling software, and I'm fluent in both Spanish and English.
In addition to my professional achievements, I served as an Assistant Director of the Board of the northern electrical system operator from 2011 to 2014, further enhancing my leadership and strategic planning skills.
